Scotland is set for a demanding series in the 2027 Nations League, facing off against powerhouses Germany, Netherlands, and Sweden. This draw promises some intense matchups as Melissa Andreatta's squad readies itself for a World Cup playoff against the Swedes in December.
Previously, Scotland found themselves in the lower seed tier of the A division and battled both Germany and the Netherlands in 2025. Unfortunately, the Scots struggled against Germany, suffering heavy defeats of 6-1 and 4-0. However, their encounters with the Dutch were more competitive, including a narrow 2-1 loss at home and a hard-fought 1-1 draw in Tilburg.
In their last two matches against the Netherlands in 2023, Scotland endured another tough spell, losing 4-0 and then 1-0. The last time Scotland faced Sweden was in a friendly back in 2021, where they fell short in a 2-0 defeat at Paisley.
The Nations League matches will unfold over several rounds: the first two will take place between February 23 and March 6, 2027, followed by the next set from April 13 to April 24, and concluding with rounds five and six from June 7 to June 15, 2027. It's shaping up to be an exciting and challenging journey for the Scottish squad as they look to prove their mettle on the international stage.
