Scottish Stars Shine: Olid, Cuthbert, and Weir Nominated for Prestigious Awards

The spotlight is on Scottish football as Eva Olid, Erin Cuthbert, and Caroline Weir find themselves nominated for the Scottish Women's Football Awards 2026. Eva Olid, who has made waves as the Manchester United head coach, previously guided Heart of Midlothian to their inaugural Scottish Women’s Premier League title. Now, she's in the running for Coach of the Year, competing against notable figures like Leanne Crichton, who led Rangers to a second-place finish, Hibernian’s Joelle Murray, and Jack Beesley, who returned Spartans to the top tier. Fresh off her victory as PFA Scotland manager of the season in May, Olid faces stiff competition this time around. Glasgow City’s Nicole Kozlova took home the player award last season, but now she’s up against three other talented strikers for the SWPL 1 Player of the Year accolade. Celtic’s Saoirse Noonan, Rangers' Katie Wilkinson, and Georgia Timms, who recently traded Hearts for Ipswich Town, are all contenders in this category. Cuthbert and Weir are also on the verge of recognition, vying for the Scotland International Player of the Year award alongside Brann's Lauren Davidson and Kathleen McGovern, who made the leap from Hibernian to Newcastle United. The excitement is building as the winners are set to be unveiled at Hampden Park on November 28.
